Skegness Stockcar Track
On Thursday the 22nd of July I drove with Ashley Mark the stunt bike rider across to the Skegness Stockcar Track to meet up with Mark & Toby to do two 10 minute Freestyle Stunt shows at the break in the stock car racing.
This was my first time as a commentator for the stunt show.
We also worked with the original owner/driver of the Big Foot monster truck."what a crushing act"
Cock o' the North Scarborough 2010
On Sunday the 11th of July was the second day of the Cock o' the North
Motorbike road racing.
The weather was fine so we had some fast & close racing.
British Superbikes
On Friday the 21st of May I drove down to Cadwell Park in Lincolnshire to see the British Superbikes on the first day of a three day event.
If you have never seen a motorbike going at 160mph+ then you need to go in August as the bikes return there for the second time this year.
I took my place on the mountain to see bike & rider fly past me in midair both back & front wheel off the ground. I hope you like my photos.
World of Bikes
On May the 9th Ashley & his wife Adele & I drove down to Northampton to the World Of Bikes shop in Corby for their open day so that Ashley & his friend Mark could do two stunt shows & let people have a go on the Wheelie simulator.
Ash & Mark did two great shows (photos on my stunt page) with around 500 people through out the day.
Now that I have had a go on the wheelie simulator I can say that it's a must for any event it's great fun.
Whitby Motocross Club
I have been looking out for a place to have a go at motorcross photography & now I have found it. Whitby Motorcross club just out side whitby is a great track with all the big jumps. I have now been to two meetings in the last few weeks & taken over 3,500 photos & am hoping to get across for the Red Bull
meeting on the 27th of June.
Radio2
Just a bit of fun but it was nice to get a mention on Radio 2 from Tim Smith on Friday the 7th of May.
Fiddler On The Roof 19th - 27th of March 2010
The Musical Theatre company have just finished their week long run of Fiddler on the roof at the West Yorkshire Playhouse in Leeds. What a show!
I am very pleased to say that once again I was asked to take the program & show photos & I also got to take a few photos of the cast with the Leeds
Lord Mayor councillor Judith Elliott.
They now move back to the Grand Theatre In Leeds for their next show
Beauty & The Beast in November 2010 from the 16th till the 20th.
You can view more photos on the address below.
Trackrod Lookout Rally March 2010
I am pleased to say that along with my good friend Matt Godfrey I was asked if we would like to be the official photographers for the 2010 Lookout Rally.
We had a great day out but due to the hard times we are all having the entry
numbers were down to about fifty cars.
We still managed to take over 1000 photos.
Merry Christmas & A Happy New Year For 2010
I would like to thank all my friends & family for their help & support over 2009 & wish you all a Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year. "CHEERS".
The R.A.C. Rally November 2009
Another wet & very windy Saturday spent taking photos of old rally cars on the Roger Albert Clark rally, but if you are a rally fan like me then it's a great way to spend a Saturday.
Some great action & some classic cars driven by well known drivers.
I am very pleased to say that my friend John Millington yet again after last years win with Malcolm Wilson navigated this years winning driver Gwyndaf Evans. I was able to give John & Gwyndaf some photos of them at the top of Olivers Mount in North Yorkshire. The sun was low in the sky & lit the cars up on the inside so you could see the driver. Some looked very happy & some scared to death.
The White Rooms Music Studios November 2009
I have just got back from the White Rooms recording studios in York. Along with his wife Adele I have been filming (Yes! I can work a TV camera) Ashley from Stuntxtreme through out the year as we are making a DVD about his life style as a stunt performer.
Ashley likes to play the drums in his very limited spare time. Not only did we get stills & footage of Ashley on the drums in the studio but we managed to get the bike in with him at the back of the drum kit.
The King & I November 2009
Well that's another show over. The Grand Theatre, what a great place to work in. One of the oldest theatres in Leeds, you can feel the history when you are back stage.
As ever I get cought up in the show & can't stop clicking, I took about 1300 photos over two nights. Now I have to look through them all & then store them away.
The next show is Fiddler On The Roof at the West Yorkshire Playhouse in March 2010, not an old theatre but still a great place to work.
Photos can be seen at the address below & on my show page.
A long weekend
The weekend of the 26th & 27th of September has been a long hard weekend for me, I spent all day Saturday photographing a wedding in the York area not leaving till 10.30pm.
I was up again at 05.15am on the Sunday to be over at the parachute school in Scunthorpe to take some photos of Ashley ( from stuntxtreme) doing his 40th freefall parachute jump. ( all photos taken from the ground by the way).
Then we all drove across to the Sheffield Tigers speedway Owlerton stadium where Ashley performed his stunt show infront of a capacity crowd of around 5000 people.
We then ended the day with a well deserved pizza at the "HUT"
Stuntxtreme
Ashley & the stuntxtreme team will be at the Squires cafe at Sherburn for their bike show on the 19th & 20th of September 09. He will be performing his stunt show on Saturday only.
I will be there to capture the action for his website.
Ashley's new website is looking good as we have managed to get some great shots of the new bike & some of the shows he has done this year.
Ashley will also be at the Sheffield Speedway meeting on September the 27th 09.
Bramhope Flower Show 2009
Over the past two years I have been invited to judge the photography section of the Bramhope Flower Show. I was very pleased to have been asked back again this year. I feel that the standard of photos entered into the show has got better each year. It took me just under an hour to judge the three classes, not every one can be a winner but all the photos had something in them that made them winners in their own way. Thanks to the committee for all their hard work.
LAOS-The Musical Theatre Company
I am pleased to say that I have again been asked to take the photos for the next LAOS production "The King & I" at the Grand theatre Leeds.
Work for me starts on the 13th of September 09 with the program photos & then moves on to the show photos on the 16th of November.
The show is on from the 17th of November 2009.
StuntXtreme
Now that Ashley is back from Spain having just completed his A Licence Skydiving course (well done Ashley) we have been out to a few shows working on the photos for his new web site .
Last week we spent an evening at one of Ashley's new venues the Sheffield Tigers Speedway meeting at the Owlerton Stadium Sheffield.
It was nice to meet some new friends like Chris Spires (The Tigers official photographer) who made us welcome & shared a few tips with me on the art of taking good Speedway photos, thanks Chris.
New Book I have been working hard on my new book "A Photographic Slice of History" It's about LAOS The Musical Theatre Company. It features 120 pages of color photographs taken at the Leeds Grand Theatre & the West Yorkshire Playhouse. It takes a look at the shows of the past few years like Hello Dolly,Oliver,Sweeney Todd & The Producers & some of the events back stage like the visit of the Lord Mayor of Leeds & Kay Mellor. It can be viewed at www.blurb.com
stuntXtreme Publicity Photos I am very pleased to say that I have been working along side Stunt Rider Ashley Mark of stuntXtreme taking the publicity photos of his new motorbike for this years stunt shows. Ashley has worked hard over the winter to get this new bike looking good & we managed to come up with some exciting photos for you to see. For more information have a look at Ashley's web site.
Wedding Books.
A new line that I have been working on is Wedding Books.
Instead of making your wedding photographs in to a one off album you can now have your photos made into a beautifully made hard back book.
There is no limit as to how many you can have printed so Mum & Dad & all your relations can have one.
They are around eighty pages long made of the best quality paper & can be made in three sizes.
